Most of them are expanded instructions with tips and more detailed graphics or pictures of the methods, techniques, process used to create the quilts. You will feel you have completed several online degrees once you work through all the techniques and put them into practice! Your knowledge and confidence as a quilt-maker will grow exponentially.

Hollyhocks - expanded instructions

It is very important that you read the General Instructions before putting together any of the quilts in the books.

By putting instructions for how to piece different units in General Instructions I didn't have to put them, over and over, in each individual pattern, which made it possible to include 6 patterns in each of the books.

In the future, when this second printing of each of the books is gone, I will be offering the patterns individually as e-patterns (downloadable online). If you want all patterns in one set (which comes to a cost of about $3.35 each pattern) you will need to purchase them in the books.

Once this reprint is sold out they will only be available online, as downloadable e-patterns.

Sizzle n Pop: Oh! My Stars and Garters (for pdf click here)

the final row (this is the partial row, only 2" tall) instructions are missing the section that goes directly under the star blocks. The graphics (showing a half square triangle, two squares and a final half square triangle together) are on the pdf.

I received a request for creating the instructions for this quilt using flying geese units rather than sets of half square triangles. I've included this in the pdf and you can download and print it here. Also included are revised fabric requirements in the event you wish to make your quilt with flying geese units (you need an additional 5 strips).

Sizzle n Pop: French Roast (for pdf click here)

Instead of making 13 light four patches, only construct 4. The remainder (9 four patch units) should be left as separate squares to make it possible to easily construct Block B.

UnderCover Strips: Interlaced Diamonds (for pdf click here)

This pdf has scanned in images of the different strips from the Bali Pop kit to help make your fabric cutting choices easier. The patterns in the UnderCover Strips book use prepackaged, precut strips. Because each strip is a different fabric it is difficult to tell you exactly which fabric to use in each specific location. Instead, the patterns are written so that you have the flexibility to be creative in your fabric placements, using value as the criteria.

The patterns also allow you the freedom to cut your strips from your stash. As you will see, when you look at the pdf, strips are separated into light, medium and dark. If you have any questions, please email or call me.

HOLLYHOCKS:

I was just asked about the Hollyhocks fabric requirements. Specifically, on page 3 of Sizzle 'n Pop it asks for "One 8" square of watercolor blue" (this is the fabric used in the border). What is this for???

This is used for the Upper Right and Lower Left Corners of the quilt as shown in the photo.

These two corners do NOT include the dark green strip.

Simply take your 8" square and cut it once diagonally to yield the two corners for your quilt. Once all of the quilt has been pieced, sew these two final corner units to the top to complete the rectangle.
